The Singapore Mathematics International Institute (SMIL) was established by the Singapore Mathematics Research Group (SMRG). Its researchers come from the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. It focuses on mathematics education and systems, and further promotes STEM research. The headquarters is in Singapore, and the North American branch is in Canada. SMIL's coaches come from top universities around the world, and provide the most convenient knowledge, resources, information and technology to scholars around the world through a combination of online and offline courses.

The Singapore mathematics system starts from elementary school and continues to high school, eventually reaching the A-level standard, and is recognized by universities in Commonwealth countries such as the United Kingdom and Europe. At present, Canada's education system covers the syllabus of various provinces in Canada, the International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement courses. The IB course is a university preparatory course such as the International Baccalaureate Organization in grades 11 and 12 of high school. The AP course is a university preparatory course that high school students in the United States and Canada can take in exchange for corresponding credits at American universities. The A-level course provided by the Singapore Mathematics International Institute (SMIL) can make up for the current lack of North American education.
